I retired from State Bank of India under VRS in March 2001. For some time I felt proud for having no work and getting full salary and pension as well. We could not live up to their expectations as we could not hire the right people for the right work and added to this there was a recession in their economy and the whole project was shelved.
During this period Sales Manager of INGLife Kirti Ranjan Mohapatra, a son of my class mate who stays very nearer to my house started pressurising me to take up Advisorship in INGLIFE Insurance. No doubt it was a good proposition but I had my own doubts as I lost the relationship with the front office clients after my exit from Banking. Not only he, the Branch Manager of our Berhampur Branch Mr.Sisir Sahu and the then Area Manager (now Geeral Manager) Mr.Satyabrata Dash were two more leaders who inspired me to take up the job. Initially ING Life insurance gave me an LG code and with that I did some sizable business thereafter I got the IRDA code.
